Summer Literacy Program

 

We at LEAD First provide a Summer Literacy Program to help students with their reading, math, writing, and basketball skills. The program is for 6 weeks during June and July. We have the students writing stories and we take trips to the city library to check out books to read. We provide breakfast and lunch. We also have an end of the Summer trip to Fiesta Texas with funds raised during the camp at a benefit Barbecue. The camp is open for children in the 3rd through 12th grade.  During camp, we also have a basketball clinic to learn basic basketball skills and to teach the children a healthy lifestyle.
